Go outside. Go in a green open space. Take along your dog and your music. Start walking and keep walking. There’s a whole world out there, right outside your front door.
Don’t be a fool to miss it.
The benefits of walking are so obvious. And yet we somehow forget how it’s such a great exercise.
Long walks help you clear your head, pace your thoughts and calm you down. And it helps bring a certain kind of rhythm to your life that no other form of exercise can.
Brisk walking for 30 minutes at a moderate speed can help you burn 150 to 200 calories.
There are many great reasons to walk. Not only does it help you tone your legs, shed the extra weight but also it quickens your heart beat, circulating more blood and oxygen to your muscles and your organs, including the brain. Your heart will get stronger, you’ll lower your blood pressure, and your bones will get stronger.
Walking also eases stress, helps you sleep better, and can boost your outlook on life.
I know because I have religiously started walking and I can definitely feel the difference in me.
There are a few main reasons why I’m so fond of walking.
It’s the foundation for good health and makes life better.
It keeps your buttocks engaged with the world. 🙂
It modestly reduces body fat. 🙂
It improves blood sugar levels, especially after meals.
It improves triglyceride levels and lowers blood pressure.
It’s well tolerated by people with arthritis.
It’s good for your brain.
It reduces stress.
It gives you a chance to think.
It can be a kind of meditation.
It’s in your blood.
That’s it for today, guys. Now it’s your turn. Do you walk every day? Do you walk “enough”? Do you plan on walking more this year? Tell me why, tell me why not, or just tell me how walking has enriched your life.
