Chicken Wings

There are recipes for making chicken wings and there are recipes. The one I am about to share with you is the most easy peasy recipe you can find. It takes very little effort to cook but tastes divine.

My boys absolutely loved the chicken wings I made. Whenever I would ask them what they wanted to eat a collective scream would go up in the air “chicken wings”.:))

This is one recipe which is such a big hit at my house whether it’s a game night or not. And I stumbled upon the same just at a random moment. I did not have any barbecue sauce with me so I ended up just mixing the spices and sauces available to me at that time.

Little did I know that it would come out just perfect. So I have stuck to this version of making chicken wings.

Preparation time: 1 hour
Cooking time: 20 mins
Cooking level: Easy
Serves: 2-4

  • 1/2 kg chicken wings (unskinned)

  • 2 tblsp ginger garlic paste
  • 3-4 tblsp tomato ketchup OR  1 1/2 tsp tomato paste diluted with 1 tsp vinegar
  • 4-5 tblsp honey
  • 1-2 tsp dark soya sauce

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 tblsp garam masala (all spice powder)
  • 1-2 tsp red chilli pd or 1/2 more if u want it extra spicy
  • Salt to taste (use less as soya sauce is salty)
  • 2-3 tblsp any cooking oil

Clean chicken wings and pat dry with a paper towel.Mix all the other ingredients together.

Add chicken wings to the sauce mixture. Let it rest for at least 1 hour for the chicken to absorb all the saucy goodness. (Minimum time you should marinate this is ½ hour)

Add oil to a non stick pan. Pour out the chicken into the pan. Add 2-3 tblsp of water in the bowl you marinated the chicken in and pour that in too.
Cook covered over high heat for 8-10 mins. Stir once or twice in between. The sauce consistency should be thick and not too dry. Let it simmer on low flame for another 10-15 mins until cooked.Serve immediately.
